Feminist Leadership Conferences Start This Week

The Feminist Majority Foundation is holding several conferences this fall as part of its Choices Campus Leadership Program. These conferences are geared toward young activists and focus on skills-building as well as information sharing. Check out these great events coming this fall!
Saturday, September 22, 2007 - Bennett College, Greensboro, NC
From Campus to Congress: Women of Color Creating Change
Speakers include Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, Feminist Majority President Eleanor Smeal, civil rights leader Dolores Huerta, and Director and Producer of NO! Aishah Shahidah Simmons. There will be a pre-Conference Ms. magazine reception on Friday, September 21, 2007.
Saturday, October 6, 2007 - Tulane University Uptown Campus, New Orleans, LA
Southern Leadership Summit: Feminist Grassroots Activism for Social Change
Presented by Newcomb College Center for Research on Women
Speakers include Eleanor Smeal, Louisiana native and National NOW President Kim Gandy, and members of the Katrina Warriors Network. There will be a pre-conference tour of New Orleans on Thursday, October 4, 2007 and a feminist Day of Service with the Katrina Warriors Network on Friday, October 5, 2007.
Saturday, October 20, 2007 - Brown University, Providence, RI
Global Leadership Summit: Eliminating Violence, Empowering Women
Speakers include Eleanor Smeal, Jin In of Global Girls/Young Women Leadership and author Jennifer Lawless. There will be a Ms. magazine reception immediately following the conference.
