
Women's Votes Count Protest Outside the U.S. Supreme Court

"Women's votes count, and the outcome of the presidential election must reflect this," said National Organization for Women (NOW) President Patricia Ireland. Ireland will join scores of activists in a Women's Votes Count protest on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, immediately prior to the oral arguments in the Florida recount challenge.

"If men alone had voted, George W. Bush would have won hands-down," Ireland said. "Women and African-Americans voted overwhelmingly for Al Gore; but Bush is trying to claim the presidency by excluding our votes."
