ROADSIDE DEMONSTRATION FOR ABORTION RIGHTS
will send a message to arriving delegates on this street near the airport, from the police station to the coast guard station.

MON., 8/12, Begins 3 p.m., Chicano Park
MARCH FOR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE
ends its long march from Sacramento at the Republican convention protest site,with a final rally set for 5:30 p.m. there.

MARCH AND RALLY FOR LESBIAN AND GAY RIGHTS
NOW President Patricia Ireland will speak out about the welfare repeal bill's impact on people with AIDS at this rally, which immediately follows a march from Pantoja Park to the Convention Site.

THE GENDER GAP IS GLOBAL NEWS CONFERENCE
NOW's Ireland leads a news conference on global women's issues; participants will include representatives of NOW, Planned Parenthood and the United Nations addressing violence against women and affirmative action, international family planning and issues arising from last year's U.N. Conference on Women in Beijing.

THURS., 8/15, 6:40 p.m., Convention Protest Site
VOICES FOR JUSTICE COALITION RALLY
draws together a wide range of progressive groups, including NOW, who have many common concerns about the way the Republican agenda kowtows to religious and political extremists. The rally ends with a candlelight vigil.
