NOW PRESIDENT PATRICIA IRELAND TO BID BON VOYAGE TO THE FIRST WOMAN SHUTTLE COMMANDER

National Organization for Women (NOW) President Patricia Ireland will be on hand to celebrate the launch of the Columbia space shuttle with NASA Astronaut Eileen M. Collins (Lieutenant Colonel, USAF) at the helm as the first woman shuttle commander.  "When Eileen Collins lifts off, she will not only break through the earth's atmosphere, she will break through the glass-ceiling at NASA,"Ireland said.
