NOW President Patricia Ireland will be in the Chicago area Thursday, April 3, and in Normal, Friday, April 4, to speak at various fund-raisers for the WOMEN FUND. The WOMEN (Women Of Mitsubishi Emergency Needs) FUND, supported by NOW, is a fund to help the women who have filed sexual harassment charges against Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc., some of whom are in dire financial need.

NOW's current efforts to stop sexual harassment and other workplace abuses at Mitsubishi are part of its Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign. Launched March 8, 1997, this nationwide campaign encourages consumers to organize and use their clout to demand that employers implement non-discriminatory and family-friendly policies.
