Today the National Organization for Women releases its second annual Watch Out, Listen Up! report, an examination of primetime programming on the six broadcast networks. Feminist analysts rated programs based on gender composition and diversity, violent content, sexual exploitation and social responsibility.
The report is being released at NOW's National Conference in Philadelphia, Pa., where members are setting the organization's agenda for the coming year. Copies of the report will be made available at the 1:00 pm workshop "On the Verge: Women and Media,"at which participants will discuss the importance of current media and telecommunications issues and how feminists can use both mainstream and independent media to make their voices heard.
