NOW is seeking a nationwide injunction forbidding the defendants from committing, or inciting others to commit, the violent acts that impede women's access to abortion.  "Patients, doctors, and clinic workers face harassment, blockades, extortion, bombs, arson, even murder," NOW President Patricia Ireland said.  If the suit is successful, NOW is also asking the court to award triple damages to every clinic in the U.S. affected by the opponents' violence.  "If the anti-abortion thugs won't obey the law, we'll go after them where it hurts -- their wallets," Ireland vowed.
