NOW President Patricia Ireland visits Brown University this Friday and Saturday as part of a nation- wide tour to unite campus and local activists against the resurgence of the radical right, intolerance and violence, to make their voices heard at NOW's Rally for Women's Lives April 9 in Washington, D.C.
"In light of the recent attacks on abortion clinics, the escalating physical attacks against women in our homes and on the streets, and the threatened attacks on women's rights in the new Congress, we will mobilize in Washington, D.C. on April 9th," said Ireland. "This rally is an organizing tool in our campaign to stop all violence against women."

WHAT: SPEECH -- "Looking Back to Look Ahead," a reflection on the women's
movement in terms of past accomplishments and current challenges. Analysis of the current threats women face and the significance of NOW's Rally for Women's Lives this April.

WHAT: DISCUSSION -- "A Conversation with Patricia Ireland," Ireland meets with

Patricia Ireland's visit to unite Rhode Island activists is part of NOW's 100 Days of Action designed to counter Republican plans for the first 100 Days of Congress, as spelled out in the Contract ON America. NOW's actions will culminate in a massive Rally for Women's Lives April 9 on the mall in front of the U.S. Capitol.
