MARCH 6, 1995
NOW President Patricia Ireland and Action VP Rosemary Dempsey will make special appearances at events to hallmark International Women's Day as part of a national campaign to mobilize activists for NOW's Rally for Women's Lives on April 9 in Washington, D.C.
Like their national counterparts, New York's band of radical right politicos are fast-tracking punitive social policy, such as so-called "welfare reform" and slashes in education funding. Dempsey's visit to NYC kicks off the second leg of a national tour to unite women and men of conscience who are opposed to violence in the streets, in our homes, at abortion clinics and violence in legislation.
