Can you believe the holidays are upon us? As busy political activists, we often find ourselves short of time to shop for gifts for all our friends and family. I have a solution: give the gift of equality with a membership in the National Organization for Women!

Can't think of who could use a NOW membership as a holiday tribute from you? How about your father, who has always backed you up and quietly supported women's rights, or your mother, whose courage is your inspiration? Don't forget your daughter (or son) who just started a first "real" job or announced that you're going to be a grandparent. One activist recently signed up for her new neighbor, to tell her how glad she was to have a new feminist friend. It's fast and easy!

The last few years haven't been fun for those of us who care about women's rights and human dignity and opportunity. It is especially hard to rejoice and celebrate when our wishes for "peace on earth" and "liberty and justice for ALL" ring hollow.
