Emma Joan Wallace dreamed of being a photographer, took courses, but
it was the one elective in cinematography that changed her life (and ours).
Now she's a cutting-edge director. Not of Hollywood fantasies, but
of documentaries for PBS that tell the
stories of real people here and far away. She knows her films will
never make her rich. But she also knows that she is able to enrich
many lives along the way. Which makes her, and us, very wealthy indeed.
