NOW National Conference: 2007

Young Feminist Leadership Institute

Equality -- Enrichment -- Empowerment

NOW & Young Feminism
The participation of women and girls of all ages is critical to the future of the NOW and the women's movement for equality. NOW is committed to empowering young feminists, and encouraging intergenerational dialogue and collaboration to strengthen ties between activists of all ages.

The Institute
Offered at the National NOW Conference, the NOW YFLI is a set of workshops, roundtables, and activities designed to help younger feminist leaders develop the grassroots and political organizing skills necessary to effect change in their communities.

NOW YFLI participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with other young feminists as well as long-time NOW activists from around the country.
  • Develop grassroots and political organizing skills with feminist leaders organizing for economic justice, LGBTQI rights, reproductive justice, ending racism, ending violence against women, and many other women's rights issues.
  • Dialogue with National and Regional NOW leaders about making feminist change and taking your work for women's rights to new levels.
  • Meet and learn from women politicians about politics and policy.
  • Learn the ins and outs of NOW, and how NOW has been on the forefront of the women's rights movement since 1966.
