NOW Foundation Benefits from Combined Federal Campaign
By Cindy Hanford, Equality Action Fund manager
Current and retired federal employees can make tax-deductible contributions to the National Organization for Women Foundation (NOW Foundation) through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) workplace giving program. Donors should note that the NOW Foundation has a new Combined Federal Campaign number: #1985.
The change in CFC number was a result of our joining the Women, Children, and Family Service Charities of America (WCFS), a federation designed to allow employees to donate to a wide variety of charities that work on women's issues. Of course you can choose to donate to just one member of the federation, and we hope you will choose NOW Foundation, which was established in 1986 as the tax-deductible advocacy, education, litigation and training arm of NOW.
The NOW Foundation fights for reproductive justice, equal treatment and equal opportunities for women, women's health and safety, and to improve the image of women through media and through our Love Your Body campaign. The Foundation also works to build our movement, and tax-deductible gifts support our voter registration and political participation efforts, our activist training, media skills and leadership development work. More information about Foundation projects is available at http://www.nowfoundation.org.
The NOW Foundation's participation in the Combined Federal Campaign brings in new donors to support our movement. If you are a federal employee, the CFC is a unique opportunity to help our wonderful cause, and we hope you will invite your co-workers to join you in naming NOW Foundation as the beneficiary of your CFC workplace gifts.
Even if you are not a federal employee, you can support the feminist movement and help advance women's rights by encouraging the federal employees you know to support the NOW Foundation by selecting #1985 on the form they receive at work, and to encourage their co-workers to do so as well.
