NOW Awards Jane Goodall at 2005 Intrepid Gala The NOW and NOW Foundation's third annual Intrepids Gala returns this year to the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., Thursday, Sept. 15. Maureen Bunyan, news anchor for WJLA-TV will once again emcee the event. Dr. Jane Goodall, world-renowned primatologist and U.N. Messenger of Peace, will be honored with an Intrepid Award. Josie Ashton, a young Dominican woman who walked 1,600 miles from New Jersey to Florida in her wedding dress in 2001 to raise awareness of domestic violence in the Latina community, which led to the establishment of annual "bride's marches" against domestic violence in New York, Miami, Washington, D.C., and other cities, will also be honored.
