Because of thoughtful bequests from two long time supporters of women's rights, the NOW Foundation will be able to continue to take an active role in fighting for women's rights. Specifically, their support allowed NOW to have an active role in the Beijing Conference on Women, fight for affirmative action, and publish essential informational materials.
Lee Adele Headley of Los Altos, California, a retired family therapist, was a generous supporter of many progressive causes. After making provisions for her family, she generously left NOW a percentage of her estate. Maria Feder of Honolulu, Hawaii, was a long-time feminist and NOW member whose daughter, Anne Feder Lee, carried out her mother's wish, through the Maria Feder Living Trust, to contribute to the NOW Foundation's work.
We send our sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to the families and friends of these extraordinary women. We will strive to honor them through our ongoing work for equality and justice.
If you are interested in making a lasting impact in women's fight for justice and equality through a planned gift, please give us a call. You can secure for yourself a life time income and substantial tax benefits while providing for the future of NOW. Please contact Johanna Ettin, Development Coordinator, at (202) 628-8669, extension 130 for more information.
