April 10: : No Sequels Allowed

Kim Gandy writes in her Below the Belt column, "Once again, we return to our regularly scheduled programming on CMN-Conservative Misinformation Network, also known as the Bush administration. This tragic farce, now in its eighth season, showcases your tax dollars at work in support of the administration's assault on science, reproductive freedom, access to information, and the health of women around the globe."

March 21: : ABCs, 123s and STDs

"Comprehensive sex ed actively encourages teens to obstain from sex until they are more mature and ready. Yet it acknowledges that many are not, and with or without adult approval, sex is happening and sexual consequences are the result," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"I can't tell you how many people have emailed or called me outraged by the sorry display of sexism in the media these days. Much of this venom is currently directed at one woman -- Sen. Hillary Clinton -- though as we have pointed out before, no woman in the public eye, from Nancy Pelosi to Michelle Obama, is exempt," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"Having the honor to serve as Action Vice President of NOW provides me with an opportunity to witness this historic election from a unique vantage point." Melody Drnach takes a turn writing Below the Belt this week.

"Neither Senator Obama's race nor Senator Clinton's gender can alter the collision course of this country -- only leadership and skill and determination can do that," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

January 4: : A Maddening Reminder

"From the most powerful leaders in the world, to the tyrant next door, those who aim to exploit, control and silence others predictably turn to aggression and brutality," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

Through the world of toys, girls and boys are given separate dreams to follow. Girls are prepared for a future of looking pretty, keeping house and taking care of babies. Boys are pointed toward the outside world of challenge, physical development and achievement.

"It's not often that I agree with conservative columnist George F. Will, who called the term 'value voters' an 'aggressively annoying new phrase in America's political lexicon,'" writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

NOW President Kim Gandy writes in her bi-weekly column: "Are Clinton's opponents 'piling on'? Of course they are -- and they'd pile onto any candidate so far in the lead. Taking advantage of that fact isn't playing the gender card, it's playing the game."

"It should come as no surprise that the Bush administration's latest choice to oversee federal family planning services opposes birth control…. Honestly, where does the administration find these people?" asks NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"As you leave the library with a copy of The Feminine Mystique, a police officer stops you and says that you cannot drive home with that 'controversial' book in your car -- not on the main road anyway." writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"Can this be the United States of America? Are poor people, particularly poor people of color, being intentionally driven out of New Orleans, left to fend for themselves in the worst of conditions?" asks NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"The havoc that feminism has wrought is a running theme through the literature and commentary on the so-called "boy crisis" and the call for sex-segregation. Feminists, and the larger liberal movement, you see, have created a sissified learning environment where boys simply can't function," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking about real money. Maybe you could argue the point without repressing a laugh if the money was (a) being spent wisely or (b) being used to achieve reasonable and measurable goals. But it's quite another when it's being squandered and, largely, given away to administration cronies," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.

"Certain instances of sexual assault, rape and other violent acts against women get a lot of media coverage, but the reports are rarely framed as evidence of a serious public health crisis and a society still struggling with misogyny. More often, incidents make news because of the alleged perpetrator's celebrity status or the salaciousness of the crime, a trend that has fostered a frightening trivialization of violence against women," writes NOW President Kim Gandy in her bi-weekly column.
