Keep Social Engineering Out of Health Care
As we fight urgently to keep the Stupak-Pitts abortion ban out of reform of the profit-driven health insurance industry, we also must remain mindful of new non-medical home visits for mothers on Medicaid proposed within the House health care bill:
The goals of these visits include "increasing birth intervals between pregnancies," "reducing maternal and child involvement in the criminal justice system," "increasing economic self-sufficiency" and "reducing dependence on public assistance."
