Yesterday, I was proud to announce the NOW Political Action Committee's (NOW PAC) endorsement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's candidacy for the presidency.
As we come to an end of a month of honoring women making history - including a record number of women serving in Congress, the first woman elected speaker of the House of Representatives, and more women than ever before leading nations around the world, we mark the beginning of our campaign to elect a history-making candidate for the U.S. Presidency.
For 30 years, the NOW PAC has worked in every election cycle to elect candidates with a demonstrated commitment to equality and NOW's broad range of issues. The NOW PAC has a proud history of supporting only those candidates who are, without a doubt, dedicated to advancing women's rights and ending discrimination.
For this reason and more, we are supporting Hillary Clinton, a long-time staunch advocate for women and families, who is a leader on the issues of reproductive rights, health care access and equal pay and economic equity.
By introducing the Paycheck Fairness Act to prevent pay discrimination; by pressuring the FDA for over-the-counter access to emergency contraception; by championing healthcare access and strengthening Medicare; and by voting in the Senate at every opportunity to support women's reproductive freedom, Hillary Clinton's record as a leading advocate for women speaks for itself. But don't take my word for it. You can read more about Hillary on NOW's issues online.
The NOW PAC plans not only to work to mobilize the women's vote to elect the most qualified candidate -- Hillary Clinton -- to the presidency, but we will also work to elect women and men to Congress whom we can count on to work with us and the White House to get our country back on the right track.
We will work to:
Elect Hillary Clinton for president;
Hold all candidates accountable to women, keeping women's rights in the debate;
Educate and register voters through grassroots organizing; and
Turn out the women's vote.
And to do this we are going to need your support. To reach our goals during this unprecedented and historic time in, we need you with us. If you're ready for a change, and if you're ready for a president who will be committed to making women's equality a reality, then join us!
If you're ready to make history with Hillary, then you can:
Support the campaign with a contribution.
Volunteer your time.
