BROWN CONFIRMATION A SHAMEFUL DAY IN THE SENATE

Following a carefully scripted backroom deal, today the U.S. Senate shirked its constitutional role to meaningfully advise and consent on judicial nominations and, on a 56-43 vote, confirmed the nomination of Janice Rogers Brown to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. We must act to prevent another shameful confirmation. Read more

    In 1965 the Supreme Court ruled in Griswold v. Connecticut that a "right to privacy" can be found within the U.S. Constitution which includes the use of contraception by married couples.
