Dear Women's Rights Supporter,
There's just a week to go before our first-ever Intrepid Awards Gala at the elegant National Museum of Women and the Arts in Washington. Dozens of members of Congress will attend, along with our fabulous honorees: comedian Margaret Cho, astronaut/entrepreneur Dr. Mae Jemison, journalist Helen Thomas and author/activist Rebecca Walker.

The Thursday evening party will celebrate NOW's first 38 years, and then the Friday and Saturday sessions at the 2003 National NOW Conference will find us rolling up our sleeves for the challenges ahead.
At the conference, we'll honor Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) with a "Woman of Courage" award and hear from long-time Congressional champions such as Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.), Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) and Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.). Almost 50 workshops will serve as interactive strategy sessions on using our issues to mobilize voters.
There's still time for you to register, and because many of you have requested the opportunity to drop by the conference as your busy schedule allows, there's a special one-day rate. If you can't spend the day, you are encouraged to come to the Presidential Candidates' Forum on Friday from 5-7 p.m. as our guest. Simply print and fill out this coupon and bring it with you to the Doubletree Hotel in Arlington, Va. We are looking forward to hearing from the presidential candidates who care about women's rights, including Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Gov. Howard Dean. Many of you will certainly have questions for Governor Dean, who is fresh from his plurality in the MoveOn.org primary, and for our long-time friend and ally, Ambassador Moseley Braun.

Because much of the work of the women's movement is done by student interns and volunteers, we're offering a $25 student rate for the whole conferenceand that includes a one-year NOW membership for first-time members. Please consider sponsoring interns from your own organization. Visit www.now.org/conference for all the details.
We need every women's rights supporter and feminist activist to be at this conference. There will be "no end" to the Bush reign unless we put all of our minds, hearts and strengths into this effort. If you have more questions about the conference, check out the website or contact Bonnie Rice, 202-628-8669 ext. 117.
I look forward to seeing you next weekend.
Sincerely,
Kim Gandy
President, National Organization for Women (NOW)
