Michigan, with its 17 Electoral College votes, is a critical state in the presidential race. And, while John McCain has pulled staff and advertising from the state, we will not rest until doors are knocked on, calls are made, and every vote is turned out on November 4.
NOW PAC has endorsed the Obama-Biden ticket and we hope that Michigan supporters will volunteer for and vote for the ticket that will do more for women and families. Michigan also has the chance to send four feminist candidates to Congress.
Obama-Biden: The Ticket For Women
Why Do Feminists Support Obama? For more than a decade, Barack Obama has said "yes" to women's rights, while John McCain has consistently said "no" -- NO to pay equity, NO to contraceptive access and reproductive rights, NO to appointing Supreme Court judges who will uphold women's rights and civil rights, NO to funding shelters and other anti-violence programs, and NO to supporting working moms and dads with policies that support work/life balance.
We join with Sen. Hillary Clinton in saying "NO" -- No Way, No How, No McCain! And we proudly stand arm-in-arm with her in putting our hopes and our dreams, our hard work behind the next President of the United States -- Barack Obama, and his running mate, longtime friend and ally of women, Sen. Joe Biden.
Read NOW PAC's analysis about where Obama stands on the issues and a comparision of the presidential candidates on issues important to women.

Proposal 2 would allow the donation of embryos (produced in fertility clinics) that would otherwise be discarded, and would allow researchers to create embryonic stem cell cultures to study disease. It would also allow government funding of stem cell research.
