Join NOW to Commemorate 34 Years of Reproductive Freedom
We invite you to join leaders of the reproductive justice movement, elected officials and other activists to commemorate 34 years of reproductive freedom on Monday evening, January 22, 2007 at the U.S. Supreme Court. This annual gathering reminds us of the continued importance of access to safe and legal abortion, effective birth control and emergency contraception, and reproductive health services and education for all women. On this anniversary, we are reminded of attempts to restrict these rights through legislation, regulation or constitutional amendment and of the ongoing struggle for women's rights in many states.
We pause to honor those who lost their lives to illegal abortions and to thank the members of the medical community and counselors who provide health care and family planning services to girls and women all across this country. At this brief inspirational event, attendees will promise to remain vigilant as our opponents seek to undermine women's rights, women's health, women's autonomy and women's control over their contraceptive use and childbearing decisions.
