[dc-zaps] Action Tomorrow on Family Violence

Please join NOW and other anti-poverty/anti-violence groups at a Hill briefing and "Action" tomorrow, June 22. Action Vice President Olga Vives will be speaking at the press event at 1 pm where a mini "clothesline" will feature t-shirts with snippets of stories from women who have dealt with poverty and violence. We'll then walk to HHS to display the shirts and deliver our message -- that mothers on welfare are NOT getting the help they need when confronted with violence and instead are being "rushed to the altar" as their route from poverty

Please attend our Family Violence is NOT an Option Policy Briefing to hear first-hand testimony from TANF mothers and other experts speaking on the experiences of battered women with children. Then join us at an afternoon Press Conference and T-Shirt Action to demand protections for battered women under TANF reauthorization!
