Title: A Life-Changing Weekend for Emerging Feminist Leaders
A Message from the NOW Foundation

October 15, 2003

Women with Disabilities & Allies Forum: Linking Arms for Equality and Justice for All

Dear colleagues and D.C. area activists,

There are only a few days left before our historic Women with Disabilities & Allies Forum! A few spots are still open, so we wanted to alert our feminist and disability rights allies that there's still time for a select few to register. We are especially looking for young people—students and interns—who don't want to miss this gathering.

The forum, sponsored by NOW Foundation and the American Association of People with Disabilities, will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, Md. this Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19.

Because we want to encourage young activists and emerging leaders to attend this event we are offering students and interns a NO FRILLS on-site registration fee of $25 for the conference, which includes both Saturday and Sunday.

This registration fee is possible because it does not include meals or special printed materials prepared for this conference. It does include entrance to all work shops and general sessions, which will be chock full of important and thought-provoking discussions and presentations. (Check the schedule of activities online for more information.)

Again, no-frills attendees can register on-site for $25. Questions should be directed to the NOW office at 202-628-8669 (ask to speak with Bonnie Rice or any of the NOW volunteers and board members who are working to make this a great event). Please pass this message on to young people on your list and consider sponsoring students and interns from your own organization. This is such an important issue for all of us as we work for equality, dignity and economic security for all.

In sisterhood,

Kim Gandy
President, National Organization for Women Foundation
