Young Feminists Take ACTION!

Be Heard!!
Protest: It's your constitutional right!

Where? In front of any public building, like your school, your post office, public offices; in places with lots of people (in front of the mall, shopping centers). Make sure that you stay on the sidewalks leaving enough room for people to walk. Also be aware of what is public property and private property.

  • Call your city/town's office or the University to check in about where and if you need a permit to protest, and any other regulations that you should be aware of, such as noise regulations.
  • Who? Tell your friends and family to come. Put up signs around the community telling where and when, and what the rally is about. You can post signs or flyers in places of worship, your school, and the community center to spread the word. IM everyone on your AIM Buddy List about your event. Set up a table during lunch with information about your cause. Ask people if you can add their e-mail address to your action alert list, then e-mail them whenever you are planning on holding a rally or protest.

Be Loud! Bring musical instruments! Clap your Hands! Shout! Sing!

Chants and Songs! It's good if you have one person leading chants/songs at a time — it will keep everyone organized and in sync. If you want, you can take turns being leaders, that way you won't tire out your voices as much. Read samples of chants and songs.

    One last tip...
