bitched out at work by male superviser

I'm a new waitress at a nice restaurant. One of the waiters was helping me out by taking some of my plates. The cook was infuriated. He started slamming the counter so that the plates rattled, and cursed off a blue streak. I'd never heard so much foul language spew from one person's mouth. He yelled in a loud voice for me to never allow someone else to take my plates. I took a deep breath and remained silent. Then, I was confused about the receipt he gave me, and checked the seating chart so that I would know the correct table to bring my food out to. He asked me how long I was working at the restaurant (about one week, but I had only been a waitress 2 days), cursed, hit the counter some more. After delivering my food, I went back into the kitchen. In a loud voice, he was complaining about how bad my service was, and how he wished he had someone else, someone more competent and intelligent, to work under him. I lost it, and ran into the bathroom. I tried so hard to regain my calm, but I could not. I told my manager between sobs what had happened, and told him that I had to leave. He was very understanding, thank goodness. I cried on the walk home, and had to sit by a waterfall for about an hour before I could actually make my way home. I really hope I don't lose my job, I really needed to make money to finance my education
