On June 28th 2001 my boss and I got into an argument. Since
I had already turned in my 2 weeks noticed, I decided to end the altercation by leaving, as I turned to leave my boss kicked me. Although the blow did not leave any
injury, the intent was still there. Without futhering the argument I left & went to the police. There I was told
my only option was to sign an affidavit which would issue
a warrent for his arrest. I live in a small town (less than
15,000), my boss is a well respected person by his peers
and they are unaware of his attitude in the workplace. I
feel I will not get far with an arrest. He is well known
& I am not.
I am in desperate need of adivce on this matter. I am not
the first person he has verbally abused, but I doubt any
other past employees will come forward. What are my
options?
The only witness I have is a disabled man who lives on
social security but my boss has hired and "pays under the
table" so as to not interfere with the government income
he recives. So I doubt he will stand up for me. Should I
let this go? Please if anyone has gone through a similar
situation please contact me via email.
