Harrassment in the professional world

I could probably go into great detail about what happened to me, but I am at the point (after 3 and a half years in a law suit) that I am looking to heal and gain some sort of closure.   I have read through most of the other stories and I see that Harrassment is alive and kicking more than I could ever imagine.   When I went to work for a billion dollar Insurance Co. I thought that I would be treated on a professional level and that I would not have to worry about being "hit on" due to the education level of my peers.   I was truly mistaken.   Through the coarse of my employment my Agency Mgr. Harrassed me in any way that he could.   He even went so far as to tell me that if I went to be by my mother's side in Texas when she had surgery for Cancer, I would not have a job when I got back.   Due to the fact that I was at the time a single mother with three children, I let him bully me into staying in Iowa fearing that I might never see my mother again.   (he did this to get back at me for turning him down).   Needless to say, but I will anyway...The day of my mother's surgery was the spear that killed my spirit.   He had been trying to get to me and with this he did.   I have battled with depression and a weight gain that I can't seem to shed. (trying to make myself unapealing).  I will share more of my story with anyone who wants to email me.   The reason I chose to cut my story short is not because I don't want to talk about it, but because I believe that with knowledge comes power and with support comes strength. Harrassment is Harrassment and anyone who says just get over it has never experienced the choice between economically surviving and sleeping with an abuser of rank.
