I HAVE SPENT THE LAST SIX YEARS AS A WARRANTY ADMINISTRATOR FOR A MAJOR LUXURY CAR DEALERSHIP IN THE ST. LOUIS AREA. I ABSOLUTLY LOVED MY JOB AND HAD STARTED MAKING SOME DECENT MONEY, ENOUGH SO THAT I WENT ON A VACATION TO MAUI ON OCTOBER 28 OF THIS YEAR. WHEN I CAME BACK I WAS GREETED AT THE DOOR AND TAKEN UPSTAIRS AND TOLD THAT I WAS NO LONGER NEEDED!! I AM DEVASTATED!! I WAS NOT GIVEN A REASON AND WAS REFUSED A WRITTEN NOTICE OF TERMINATION. I WAS TOLD I COULD PERSUE IT LEGALLY IF I WANTED.
NOW I AM A PERSON THAT NEVER MISSED A DAYS WORK (DID'T HAVE ANY PAID SICK DAYS) I WAS IN CHARGE OF WARRANTY CLAIMS THAT BROUGHT IN UP TO TWO MILLION DOLLARS IN REVENUE A YEAR, AND I NEVER HAD ANY WORK RELATED PROBLEMS LIKE GETTING ALONG WELL WITH OTHERS, MISSING WORK, OR PRODUCTION MISTAKES.
IT SEEMS THAT WHEN I WAS ASK ABOUT A NEW COMPUTOR SYSTEM THAT WE HAD INTSTALLED IN MAY OF THIS YEAR, I DIDN'T GIVE THE RIGHT ANSWER!! I WROTE SEVERAL LETTERS TO THE GENERAL MANAGER THAT THE COMPANY WAS LOSING MONEY ON LOST REPAIR ORDERS AND IMPROPER PAPER FLOW. THE GENERAL MANAGER AND THE CHIEF FINANCIAL MANAGER WERE INVOLVED IN A BITTER FIGHT ON WHETHER TO REMOVED THE SYSTEM OR KEEP IT. I JUST TOLD THE CFO THE DAY BEFORE MY VACATION HOW I FELT, THAT I FELT IT WAS COSTING THE COMPANY MONEY AND THAT IS NOT WHAT THE GENERAL MANAGER WANTED TO HEAR. I WAS CUT OUT LIKE I NEVER EXSISTED. NOW, I REALIZE THAT THIS HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME IN ANY WORK PLACE, BUT WHAT REALLY BOTHERS ME IS THAT THE COMPANY HAS SEVERAL MALE EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE WRECKED COMPANY CARS DUE TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, HIT POLICE OFFICERS WHEN ARRESTED AND THEY STILL HAVE THEIR JOBS. WE HAVE ONE SALESMAN THAT HAS GRABBED WOMEN BY THE REAR AND STILL HAVE THEIR JOBS. SOME MEN COME IN WHEN THEY WANT AND STILL HAVE THEIR JOBS. I ALWAYS KNEW THAT THIS PLACE, LIKE MOST AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIPS, HAD ITS SEEMY SIDE AND THAT IS SOMETHING THAT I JUST LET GO. IT WAS A SURVIVAL TECHNIQUE. I HAD A GOOD JOB, WHY SHOULD I COMPLAIN ABOUT A FEW IMPROPER COMMENTS? WELL NOW ALL OF MY SILENCE HAS DONE ME IN AND CAUSED ME A GREAT DEAL PAIN.
I FEEL EMPTY INSIDE BUT AT THE SAME TIME I DON'T WANT TO EVER GO BACK THERE TO WORK. I WAS ROBBED OF MY CAREER BECAUSE A MAN DIDN'T LIKE MY ANSWER.
I REALIZE I AM RAMBLING ON BUT I NEED TO VENT. EVERYONE HAS A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING JUST HOW ONE GETS FIRED FOR NO REASON AND IT DOES SOUND AS THOUGH IT HAS BEEN MADE UP TO MAKE ONE SOUND GOOD.
I NEED HELP WITH A COURSE OF ACTION THAT I CAN TAKE. I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIGHT THEM LEGALLY BUT ONE THING THEY HAVEN'T HAD AND WOULD HATE IS FOR THIS TO BECOME PUBLIC. I WOULD LOVE TO SET UP PICKETS OUTSIDE OF THE BUISNESS AND LET PEOPLE KNOW JUST HOW THEY TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES. IT IS NOT JUST ME, A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO A WOMAN WON A DISCRIMINATION LAW SUIT AGAINST THE COMPANY TO THE TUNE OF THREE MILLION DOLLARS JUST TO HAVE IT OVERTURNED IN AN APPEAL. THE COMPANY JUST KEEPS WINNING. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING
