I work for a large corporation for 10 years and it was not until
recent did I determine I was once again discriminated against. I
have filed charges of discrimination with EEOC and they are
currently pending investigations. I applied for a job that would
further advance my career with the company. The decision came down
to myself an african american and a white associate. We were told
by the HR Director that we were "equally disqualified " for the position
yet the white associate got the job. I believe that disqualified
would mean that neither party would get the job. Additionally to
the drama, I was not granted an interview for this position, he was.
I was given a study guide for an exercise that was created only
after I express an interest in applying for the position. I was given
the study guide one day later, yet we both had the same deadline.
I thought that our civil rights protected us and clearly states that
when a similar situated employee is treated less favorable than the other
of the opposite sex, race, etc. this is discrimination. I had prior
incidents reported on my HR file in 1995 and harassment in 1998. This
caused my CFO whom then told me when I went to him with the situation that
I did not get his vote because I had a "black check mark" and I had a
credibility issue. Is this not retaliation when in fact my HR record has no
negative marks, demotions, yet I have been receiving excellent reviews from
my supervisor, plus raises that exceed the maximum percentile allowed?
The company is now going to the point of calling associates that were terminated
under my management to attempt to discredit me and say I was a bad manager?
Please send me an email with your response: pool@acninc.net. I would name the company
if we cannot meet resolution in my claim.
`1. Was I discriminated against? (email to a friend for additonal feed back before
I name the company. I am planning a national boycott of their services if I cannot
get resoultion.
2. What does it say for the company calling former associates to attemp to discredit me?
3. What types of actions should I take.
Send to a friend, email me with your comments.
