I just read a story.....how unfair!!!! I agree with her story totally. She said that her daughter got kicked off of the tennis team at her highschool. Cuz she pushed her opponent, who was, by the way, cheating!!! I thing that this world is so unfair. Guys at my school get everything. Let me start at the beginning.
1. I play on the DuBois Beavers High School Varsity Softball team. We are doing very well this year, we are 10 and 3. but does that matter to the sports director? no.
2. the boys' baseball team gets a chartered bus to go to a town 30 minutes away!!!! We aren't allowed to have one, not even to the games 2 HOURS away!! tell me that that is fair!!!
3. The boys get out of school early on game days. too early. They get out at 1:45 for a game in the same town that they get a chartered bus for. Brookville, Pennsylvania. We don't get out at all. I mean, i know that we get out of school at 2:14 everyday, and there isn't much of a difference between the time they get out and the time we get out normally, but that isn't my point.
4. their field is not allowed to be used by anyone on game days or not!!! Our field is used by the whole school everyday, even on game days!!! and they won't let us out to clean it up like they do the boys. the boys are special. They have the good record.....yeah right. we are or are close to being number one in our district. that doesn't matter that the boys are third or fourth!!!
5. this has nothing to do with the school now. But it is still a bunch of bull. The newspaper will put stories in the paper about the boys. Full page pictures and everything. what do we get? a small paragraph if we are lucky, and a picture if the boys didn't have a game. i think that that is wrong. We should get as much coverage as the boys, no matter how well we did.
6. The boys get a good word in the paper, win or lose. Us girls get looked down upon and everything for losing. they pick out every error, every "great" thing that the other team did. Where is the TOWN PRIDE? non existant in this place!!! If we allow three runs, the paper makes it look like we got killed by ONE hero on the other team.
I think that i have a very good argument. Please, e-mail me with your responses, good or bad. this is kind-of for my english project, so any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
I am tired of our team being looked down upon. We are just as much athletes as the guys, i want to be treated like one. We woul like those luxuaries too, you know!!!
