A letter was written to the chief of our (DC Gov.) agency regarding a manager.
This letter could be considered a whistle blower letter based on its content.
This manager came across a section of the letter and confronted the subordinate that
'supposedly' wrote the letter. Naturally, he was less than pleased and his body
language said as much. Anyway, he approached her as she was sitting in her office.
He asked another semi-manager to join them in her office and closed the door to confront
this person. The person denied any knowledge of the letter (smart thinking) as this
manager only had PART of the letter. He raised his voice and she asked/told him to
leave the office at which time he walked towards her and demanded she hand over the
xeroxed copy that he had given to review when this meeting began (he also had two
xeroxed copies in his hand). She refused his request and again asked him to leave and
he tried snatching it from her. She yelled for him to stop, said NO, get out, stay away
from me, and she told him she felt threatened. He proceeded to tackle her as she
remained seated. He is approx. 6'4" and she is 5'4". The so called eye witness is
as tall as the manager and did NOTHING. She yelled to the eye witness to help her and
dial 911. He did nothing. MPD responded and after 2hrs. of back and forth - his side - her
side, decided after speaking with the managers boss, a medical director, not to arrest him as
he had not assaulted her because his INTENT was to take the paper from her and NOT to
assault her (per the medical director, had she given in, this all would not have occurred).
DAH!! I guess she should be thankful it wasn't sex he was after. To say the least,
she is a nervous wreck. She is afraid and horrified that he was not arrested immediately
and I am disgusted that a medical doctor did not even once go to her to see if she was injured.
Needless to say, my friend/co-worker is at home on leave due to Post-Traumatic Stress while
the abuser is at work everyday. Worker's Comp.
takes forever and a day so who cares about her welfare and that of her family? This just
doesn't seem right. Give me some feed back.
