I have a home based administrative office. Several women have come to me from
one particular state agency to complain of harassment and discrimination. These
women were subject to hostile work environments, lies, falsified personnel actions
and harassment. The overlying reason for the actions of the supervisors against
these women was said to be based on their age and sex.
Based on my perception, I tended to agree with majority. Each of these women who
were harassed and targeted were over forty years of age. They mainly had no other
personnel actions in their files and were all targeted within a period of five months.
All had different supervisors. With the help of God, I was administratively able
to help these women retain their jobs and receive back pay from appealed personnel
actions. One women had checked with an attorney and was told his cost would be $2500.00,
plus expenses.
My first impression of a complaint of discrimination is that the supervisor is
poorly trained. When discrimination is of the magnitude I witness with these women,
I had to surmise that it had to come from a higher level.
Are older women being targeted for removal from employment?
