I went to a Kelly temp office to be screened for temporary employment in Hamden, CT.
The screener began the usual procedure for screening until I told her that I had a six year
old child and wanted a part-time job. I wanted to be home in the afternoons when he arrived
home from school. As soon as she heard that, she tried to end the testing and screening
session. She said that I could have saved myself a trip to her office by telling her those
details over the phone. I had to insist that she continue to screen me and that I would try
to find a babysitter. They said they would call if they got a part-time job but they don't
usually get job orders for part-time help. Meanwhile, in their literature, they advertise
that they do have part-time jobs and service people who want to work part-time.
