NOW and Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception (EC) - a strong dose of safe and legal birth control pills - can protect women, young and old, rich and poor, from coerced or unintended pregnancies. Studies have proven that EC is a safe and effective method of preventing unwanted pregnancies (and therefore abortions). Although EC opponents have alleged that EC access will lead to promiscuity, studies have provided specific evidence that this is not the case. Support Our Work
