Watch Out Listen Up

 Feminist Ratings Survey 
Call for Media Monitors


As part of NOW's Watch Out Listen Up campaign, we are conducting a Feminist Ratings Survey. Volunteer monitors are reporting the primetime television programs they watch during an assigned two week period. Monitors may also choose to assess programming content.  Monitors will be provided with a diary inwhich to record their viewing.  The diary also includes content criteria in four categories (violence, gendercomposition/stereotypes, sexual exploitation and social responsibility) to help those who chose to analyzethese shows.  NOW will announce the results, including the rankings of programs feminists watch as well as their concerns and suggestions for improvements in these shows.

Please send me a diary for listing the television shows I watch during primetime for two weeks.  I can simply list the shows I watch or, whenever I feel it is appropriate, I can record comments regarding content.  My viewing habits and content observations will become part of NOW’s Watch Out Listen Up campaign to address the portrayal of women in the media.
