    Explore the myths of old age, the politics of social change exemplified by the White House Conference on Aging and the current debate in Congress over Social Security and Medicare.  Baby boomers are especially encouraged to attend, as what is happening now will affect generations to come.     Impossible Body
    Performance:  Lisa Lusero

    Written and performed by Lusero, this performance weaves stories about her life as a shaven-headed, Chicana lesbian with the voices and stories of other characters within her “impossible body”.  Ultimately, the show is a celebration of life, despite its complications.  A discussion will follow.     Women Withn Multiple Oppressions

    For women with disabilities and TABs (temporarily able-bodied), this roundtable will explore issues of economic disparity, barriers to access, attitudinal access, ADA implementation, how to make sure your meetings are accessible, disability etiquette, living with disabilities and more.  ADA Checklist will be provided.     The Coming Out Continuum

    Wouldn’t you love to come out one time and never have to sweat the process again?  We continuously come out at different times in different ways—to parents, friends, siblings and other relatives, co-workers and others.  Participate in a discussion about coming out, and discover various ways to handle the ongoing process.     From Apathy to Action: Politics for the Politically Challenged

    Government officials cannot make informed decisions without talking to people in the trenches, and we must work to educate them.  Officials won’t listen to us unless we have political power.  Learn how to become involved in the legislative and electorial processes.  Discuss concrete techniques for making change on the state and local level.     Health Issues and the Patient & Physician Interaction
    Presenters:  Janet Canterbury, Ph.D., Nancy Klimas, M.D., Katherine A. Thurer
    Women's and lesbians' health care are important feminist issues.  This roundtable will address specific health concerns, our experiences with the health care system and the responses of doctors and the medical community at large to our medical needs. Presenters and participants will discuss how to empower ourselves in the health care arena.Room: Lexington/Ballroom Level

    Homophobia and Heterosexism in Women’s Sports
    Presenters:  Laurel Dagnon, Pat Griffin, Linda Joplin, Mariah Burton Nelson

    Presenters will lead a discussion on the issue of homophobia and heterosexism in women’s sports.  Many obstacles face lesbian athletes and coaches but strategies, both personal and political, are available to help. Leveling the playing field would benefit all of us, athletes and fans alike.
