National Freedom to Marry Day

If your chapter has a lesbian rights task force, call a special planning meeting for people to get involved with the Day of Action.
Create a Lesbian Rights Task Force and plan the Day of Action as the Task Force's first organizing effort.
Make sure your event caters to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and straight activists.
Outreach to other organizations. Many diverse groups have supported same-sex marriage rights, including religious, civil rights, campus and progressive organizations.
Publicize and build attendance for the action through newsletters, word of mouth, special mailings and flyers to the community.
Phone bank members to let them know about the action and get them involved.
Announce the action in the calendar section of your local paper and lesbian & gay publication.
Of course, have a sign up sheet to get names, addresses and phone numbers of attendees, and pass the hat for donations. Send a copy of the sign-up sheet to the action center.
Plan a fundraiser and send a delegation to the Lesbian Rights Summit.
