National Freedom to Marry Day

Stage a mock wedding ceremony on the courthouse steps and include wedding traditions, such as throwing a bouquet. The guests can hold NOW rounds and signs supporting same-sex marriage.
Wear lavender ribbons to symbolize the importance of legal recognition for our family ties (call it "Tying the Knot").
Drive a procession of cars through town decked out in marriage theme. (Make sure to incorporate a freedom-to-marry message.)
Make Valentine's Day cards that include the message: "Have a heart: support loving, committed lesbian and gay relationships." Deliver big red bags of these cards to legislators and pass them out to the public.
Write your local newspaper and call talk radio shows to express your support for same-sex marriage. (A sample letter to the editor is included.)
