• Hold a movie night! Get a group together and see "SiCKO". Use the fliers we have provided to advertise! Schedule a discussion using the talking points to get you started!
• Take action! Urge members of Congress to co-sponsor HR 676! Raise your voice to support universal single-payer health care that provides for the specific medical needs of girls and women.
• Hold a visibility awareness event! Dress as doctors, nurses, and patients and stand outside insurance companies. Hold signs with facts about:
  • Health insurance CEO pay
  • Number of people in your community who do not have health care
  • Why health care matters!

  Invite people to offer personal testimony about health care and the health insurance industry.

• Hold a community forum! Invite experts and other speakers who can answer questions and concerns people may have. Ask doctors, nurses, small businesses owners, labor union leaders, and community organizers to join in the conversation.
• Start an awareness campaign!
  • Write letters to the editor.
  • Call in on talk radio.
  • Appear on local TV and cable shows.
  • Focus on the health disparities caused by the current system.
  • Focus on why so many people have no insurance or are under-insured.
  • Speak out about medical bankruptcy in your community.
• Organize a rally! Gather on the steps of city hall or your state house and call for full support of single-payer universal health care. Call for leaders to make health care a top priority in your local, state and federal legislatures. Start a health care coalition, hold a press conference.
• Use Alternative Media! Create YouTube videos, interview people in your community about their experiences with the health care system and health insurance companies. Make sure to include the name of the insurance company and to tag the videos with a NOW tag. Click here for step-by-step directions.
