"Roe v. Wade - The Imminent Threat" is a free community event hosted by Hollywood NOW with a Miracle Mile NOW sponsored panel discussion with Q&A. This event will touch on the issue of the generational gap within young women who consider the landmark Supreme Court case as an event consistent only with the feminist movement of the 1970s. Members of North Miami NOW who are also members of Miami Clinic Access Project will be celebrating the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade at A Choice for Women clinic in Miami by defending access to that clinic. Anti-abortion religious extremists have been at the clinic every Saturday (since Spring 2006) to intimidate and harass women who come for abortion care. Activists with Miami Clinic Access Project are also there every Saturday to defend access and protect women patients from being accosted.

Wade, please join NOW and the Oakton's Women's and Gender Studies program for a FREE screening of the HBO documentary 12th and Delaware, which provides a compelling, fly-on-the-wall account of the battle between a women's health clinic and an anti-choice "crisis pregnancy center" sharing the same quiet street corner in Pierce, Fla. An official selection of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the documentary is the latest work from Academy Award-nominated filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady. The screening will be followed by a talk and Q & A with Catherine Caporusso, a civil rights attorney and president of the North/Northwest Suburban Chapter of NOW.
