URGE SENATORS TO END IMPEACHMENT TRIAL

January 22, 1999

On Monday, January 25th, there will be an attempt by Democrats to hold an ‘’up or down” vote on two articles of impeachment, with accompanying proposals to avoid calling witnesses and to dismiss the charges entirely.  Please call, fax or email your Senators and urge them to
1) Vote to dismiss both impeachment counts, and if this fails
2) Vote against removal of the President.

Now is the time to contact your U.S. Senator with the message: Bring the trial to a close.  A list of Senators who especially need to hear from activists is included below.  Even if your Senators’ names do not appear on the list -- and particularly if your Senators seem likely to vote for removal -- contact them to say that a vote for removal will have consequences in the next election.  For a  full list of Senators’ addresses and phone numbers, you can link to http://www.senate.gov/contacting/index.cfm
